As you know, volunteerism and supporting community is at the core of Tinte Cellars’ values. With that in mind, we’d like to invite you to join the Tinte Cellars Team and walk together on Saturday morning, June 4, in Kirkland at NAMIWalks Washington. NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and their walks focus on raising awareness about the importance of mental health and the rising need for mental health services. It’s a fun team building opportunity and a rewarding way to spend a few hours together on a Saturday morning.
Did you know how common mental illnesses are in the U.S.?
– 1 in 5 adults experience mental illness each year, with 1 in 20 adults experiencing serious mental illness
– 1 in 6 youth ages 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year
– 50% of all lifetime mental illnesses begin by age 14 and 75% by age 24
– Suicide is the leading cause of death among people aged 10-34
You can choose to walk the full 5K route, part of the route, or not walk at all – just come and be a part of the celebration. We encourage each of you to join our team and bring along your friends and family. Registration is free, though you are encouraged to collect donations. We’d love to have a big showing for Tinte Cellars, so be sure your friends and family register for the Tinte Cellars team, too!
Sign up today, and join our Tinte Cellars Team: https://www.namiwalks.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.team&teamID=48273

Description for the Class: Mandala is a Sanskrit word for Circle. We will follow the ancient tradition of using concentric circular patterns as a method of orientation to create our own mixed media mandalas. In this 2hr workshop style class, Charmi will lead you to begin your painting in a fun, stress free way.
You’ll learn how to playfully build up texture and pattern using different mediums to create a painting full of depth and meaning. You will also learn to use stencils and stamps to add your own personal flair in your painted layers like a pro! Limited seating and class size. *Wine is purchased on site and a splash of wine to taste is included in the ticket fee.
About the Artist: Charmi Shah is a mixed media artist based in Redmond, WA. She is originally from Mumbai, India where she got her degree in Applied Art from a local art college. She teaches art full time at a private K-12 school and works on her own art practice in her free time out of her Redmond studio. Creating mandala paintings in different mediums has always been her happy place as they bring a calm state of mind that is open to creative practice.
