Communities make wine, and wine can make a community.

When you spend time in any great wine-making region, you’ll start to notice that the wine itself is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s the thread that weaves through the land, the people and the culture of the place. It gives rise to strong, supportive communities that foster creativity, collaboration and deeper connections. There’s a sense of purpose and appreciation for the things that really matter—a sense that the things we have in common are bigger than our differences.

That’s the vision for Tinte Cellars. We are a family owned winery collective that is proud to produce distinct vintages that embody the exceptional quality and craft of Washington winemaking. We are equally proud to be a part of the community of growers, winemakers and purveyors that make this one of the world’s truly great wine regions. Great wine is about more than just what’s in the bottle: it’s about creating occasions for people to come together and celebrate the best things in life.

A tale of good people and good timing

For Tim Gamble and Teresa Spellman Gamble, Tinte Cellars is the culmination of a lifelong love of great wine and a commitment to building strong, inclusive local communities. In 2018, the opportunity arose to purchase two exceptional Woodinville wineries—William Church and Cuillin Hills. The wineries represented two distinct approaches to Washington winemaking, but were united by an unrelenting commitment to quality and community. Plus, they were neighbors and collaborators already! It felt like kismet. Tinte was born, and we look forward to preserving the legacy of these two great brands, empowering them to make even more exceptional wine, and leveraging their track records to forge exciting new paths for the Tinte brand, its customers and its dedicated employees.

Great wine leads to great opportunity

We are focused on building on the strong foundation these two wineries have established and enabling them to produce even more exceptional wine. We also want Tinte Cellars to be a shining example of how a business can engage people—both employees and customers—and be a force for good. We are actively exploring opportunities—creative, philanthropic and operational—to give back to this community. As for what the future may hold, all doors are open, and we’re excited to see where we can go together.
